Choose the Camera You Want to Use
On a laptop, make sure the camera cover is open. If you use a separate webcam, connect it before opening the chat. Close another app that is using the same camera, then check the preview shown by the matching experience.
On a phone, use a stable position and a comfortable angle. Keep the front camera clear and the screen awake while you prepare. A light placed in front of you usually makes your expression easier to see than a bright light behind you.
Allow Camera and Microphone Access
When the browser asks to use your camera or microphone, choose Allow when you are ready. If you previously blocked the request, open the site permissions control beside the address bar and review the camera and microphone settings. The exact menu name depends on your browser.
When your operating system requests permission, enable your browser in the camera and microphone privacy settings. Return to the chat, refresh the page, and select the camera and microphone you want to use for this conversation.
Make Your Voice Comfortable to Hear
Check that the microphone is not muted by a headset switch or computer key.
Choose a quieter spot and move away from a fan or speaker pointing at the microphone.
Try headphones if the other person hears an echo.
Speak at a comfortable volume and keep a steady distance from the microphone for clear, even sound.
